A recently filed statutory warranty deed indicates that Apple has chosen Prineville for the location of a new data center.

According to the document, which was filed at the Crook County Clerk’s Office on Wednesday afternoon, Apple Inc. has purchased a parcel of Crook County land for $5.6 million.

Crook County Judge Mike McCabe declined to discuss the specifics behind the purchase, stating that the County Court intends to honor the confidentiality agreement they signed with the company. Nevertheless, he could not dispute the contents of the statutory warranty deed.

“The document speaks for itself,” he remarked.
